The Power of Patience in Healing: Embracing Individual Journeys
Healing Is Not a Quick Fix: It’s a Sacred Journey
Healing is a journey—one that’s often misunderstood, minimized, or rushed. In a world obsessed with instant results and productivity, we rarely honor the deep, messy, transformational process that healing truly is.
As I reflect on my own path, I now realize: rushing through healing can be just as damaging as staying stuck in denial.
The Trap of “Helping” from a Place of Fear
For years, I thought I was being helpful. Giving advice. Playing counselor. Showing up strong for everyone around me.
But here’s the truth, beloved: a lot of that came from fear.
✨ Fear of losing people
✨ Fear of being judged
✨ Fear of being unworthy unless I was “useful”
I tied my worth to how much I could help. I confused control with care. And when folks didn’t follow my advice, I felt rejected. Frustrated. Powerless.
The Wake-Up Call: When Your Advice Isn’t Aligned

A recent moment shook me. Someone I love was on their health journey, and I jumped in with all my tips about weight loss—only to learn their actual goals were to save money and build a sustainable lifestyle. Weight loss wasn’t even on their list.
Whew.
That moment revealed something deep: I wasn’t listening. I was projecting. And what worked for me wasn’t what they needed.
Rushing Your Healing? Sis, That’s a Setup.
When I first started healing, I wanted quick results. Fast breakthroughs. Immediate transformation.
But what I learned is this: true healing is slow, sacred work. You cannot shortcut your way to wholeness.
Healing asks us to go deep. To uncover root causes. To sit with our shadows. And to trust the divine timing of it all.
Holding Space—Not Control—for Others’ Journeys
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this: people don’t need us to fix them. They need us to hold space.
That means listening without judgment. Trusting their process. Resisting the urge to rescue.
The Universe knows what each of us needs to grow. When we interfere from a place of fear, we delay their alignment—and ours.
From Fear to Faith in Parenting and Beyond
This lesson hit home in my role as a mother. I used to project my fears onto my daughter—trying to protect her from the pain I had experienced. But in doing so, I wasn’t trusting her path. I was trying to write her story for her.
Now, I see things differently. I brought her here to fulfill her purpose, not to repeat my past. My role is to love, support, and believe in her—without trying to control her.
That’s what faith looks like.
Healing Requires Patience, Faith, and Deep Respect
Beloved, healing isn’t about fixing. It’s about becoming.
✨ It’s slow, because it’s sacred.
✨ It’s hard, because it’s holy.
✨ And it’s personal, because no two paths look the same.
Whether you’re on your own healing path or walking alongside someone else on theirs, remember this: your only job is to trust the process, hold space, and move from fear to faith.
